Do you need to increase your English Language ability and build confidence in using English at college before joining one of our academic courses?

Although Kaplan is not an 'English College' We offer two kinds of Pre-Sessional English if your English Language skills are not strong enough to go straight into an academic course at our college. Pre-sessional English preparation for Graduate Diploma students, and Integrated English for Foundation Certificate students.

Graduate Diploma courses:

New Tier 4 visa regulations stipulate that Graduate Diploma students will need to have a minimum IELTS level of 5.5 (or Equivalent SELT score) with a minimum of 5.5 in each component. Find a full list of UKBA approved Secure English Language Tests here.

Kaplan International College London offers Pre-sessional English courses to potential Graduate Diploma students to help them achieve these results. These English courses are highly intensive and have one goal - to help you achieve the required level of English in order to study at a post graduate level in the UK!

What does a pre-sessional course for Graduate Diploma candidates comprise of?

The Preparatory English for the Graduate Diploma is a specialised intensive English course with a strong focus on exam preparation and individual attention. You will receive 24 hours tuition per week, plus self study and access to online exam practice. The mock exams will identify and skills weaknesses to be addresses in tutorials.

Integrated English for Foundation Certificate courses

The course provides 20 hours per week of interactive classroom based tuition and a further 20 hours per week of guided self-study. As you study English at college you will have assignments to complete, including language project work in the local community and on-line activities, as well as preparation for classes.

You will also be assigned a personal Learning Support Tutor who you will meet at regular intervals to discuss your progress and to receive help with areas you find difficult. It is throughout your Pre-Sessional English studies that you will receive enhanced support from the Student Services team to ensure you gain maximum benefit from your studies.

At Kaplan College London there are several Integrated English intakes each year. It means that you can study English and you will be able to start your academic course as soon as possible.
