Do you need to increase your English language ability and build confidence in using English before joining one of our academic programmes?

We can add Pre-Sessional English to your offer automatically if your English language skills are not strong enough to go straight into an academic programme at the College. We offer English tuition from an approximate equivalent of IELTS level 3.0 upwards.

What you will study

The Programme provides 20 hours per week of interactive classroom based tuition and a further 20 hours per week of guided self-study. Assignments include language project work in the local community and on-line activities, as well as preparation for classes.

You will also be assigned a personal Learning Support Tutor who you will meet at regular intervals to discuss your progress and to receive help with areas you find difficult. Throughout your Pre-Sessional English studies, you will receive enhanced support from the Student Services team to ensure you gain maximum benefit from your studies.

When you can start

There are several Pre-Sessional English intakes each year. This means that you will be able to start your academic programme as soon as possible.  

Where will you study

If your IELTS score is 2.5 or 3.0, you can choose to study in London or at our centre in Nottingham.

They all have a minimum of 20 hours of teaching each week so you can improve your English ability quickly.

How to apply

Submit your application for a Foundation Certificate or Graduate Diploma and we will assess whether you need to increase your language level. If you do, the appropriate Pre-Sessional English programme will be automatically added to your offer.
