KICL is pleased to introduce a new course available from September 2011. The Enhanced University Preparation courses are designed to improve your study skills and help you achieve highly across all areas of our course.
What does an enhanced course involve?
An Enhanced University Preparation course is a 3-term course where the first term follows a new format. After completing the first term you will join the 2-term Graduate Diploma you selected and on successful completion of this course to the required level, you will progress onto one of our distinguished partner universities with the best possible preparation from the college. See a full list of the courses offering Enhanced University Preparation on the right hand side of this page.
The main purpose of the first term is to allow you time to settle into UK and familiarise yourself with the English postgraduate education system. This term focuses particularly on skills such as goal seting, independent learning, preparation for research, time management and exam techniques.
There are no exams in the first term, this gives you flexibility on when you can enrol at the college - a great relief if you visa is taking longer than expected to come through!
What are the benefits for you?
- You have the flexibility to enrol until the 31st of October 2011 - this gives you greater peace of mind if your student visa, academic results or SELT results are delayed.
- You will benefit from maximum exposure to the British education system, and emphasis on English language, study and subject skills, as well as on your personal development. This will improve your chance of successfully completing your postgraduate degree at the University of Glasgow.
- You will not need to go back to your home country to renew your student visa at the end of your preparation course; this can be done in the UK, saving you time and money!
How do I qualify for this course?
You will need an IELTS English level of 5.5 with no less than 5.5 in any skill
